The British Council in Slovakia offers IELTS Academic and General Training tests. You can book your IELTS test with us online or in one of our registration centres.

Candidates coming from abroad please see the latest Covid-19 updates on entering the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website before registering for an exam with the British Council. For current travel restrictions within country, please see the Ministry of Health website (COVID Automat).
Please note that a negative COVID-19 test not older than 12 hours might be needed to sit an exam with us. We will let you know at least 5 days in advance if this is the case with your exam.

*Computer-based test is not an exam written online from home.
To book your test you will need to:
- Make sure you have a form of valid ID (passport or Schengen area national ID card) at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you book your test.
- Please note that candidates under 18 years of age need the consent of a parent or guardian in order to apply for a test place. IELTS is not recommended for test takers under the age of 16.

- Pay for your test. You can pay for your test either through our online registration system, by bank card in our Bratislava office or via bank transfer.

Once your booking is complete
Once you have completed the booking process, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. Please check your email address when registering for the exam.
When we confirm your booking, you will get access to the free online course Road to IELTS
Your Speaking test may be scheduled on the same day as the other sections, or on a different day within a 7-day window before or after your main test day. Usually it takes places on the same day as the written part or the day before. You will be informed well in advance in an email invitation, three days before the first part of your test at the latest.
