About

The British Council was founded to create a friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and the wider world.

Your teaching centre…

We offer a wide range of English language courses for children (5-10 years), teenagers (11-17 years) and adults at all levels, and look forward to welcoming you to one of our classrooms.

Learning needs the right environment to flourish. As we’re experts in education, our language school has been specifically designed to help teachers teach and learners learn. This helps get the most out of each session with the whole class making real progress.

Our bright and inviting classrooms stimulate learning. The latest technologies, such as interactive whiteboards, allow teachers to use a range of methods that make your lessons meaningful, enjoyable and useful.

For parents we offer peace of mind, as our language school meets the highest standards for child safety and accessibility.

When you enrol for a course you will receive many student benefits, including access to free workshops, talks and discussions about English culture and a range of discounts for goods and services.

…and Examination Centre

Over two million people took exams with the British Council last year. We offer a wide range of exams in more than 90 countries worldwide helping people gain access to trusted qualifications to support their career and study prospects. Take an exam with us and enjoy the benefits of our services and global experience.

Here in Slovakia we offer the world’ s most popular English language test IELTS, Cambridge exams, university and school exams as well as professional exams. We are being audited regularly and thanks to our high standards we are trusted by exam boards such as Open University, ACCA, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, NEBOSH and University of London to name a few. Our professional approach brings us wider and wider recognition across the globe.

In these ways, the British Council builds links between UK people and institutions and those around the world, helping to create trust and lay foundations for prosperity and security around the world.
